PSG have continued to freshen up their defense, with Illia Zabarnyi arriving this past summer as part of their push to add youth at center-back. Still, one of their earlier targets could spark a battle in the transfer market.
In May, Foot Mercato reported that PSG have been keeping tabs on Club Brugge defender Joel Ordoñez. Reports indicate that advisor Luis Campos and his recruitment staff have followed the Ecuadorian international closely, watching him on multiple occasions but stopping short of making an official bid.
The Belgian side are said to be demanding between €25 million and €30 million for Ordoñez, and with Premier League clubs also circling, PSG may need to move quickly if they want to secure his signature.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Inter Milan have included Joel Ordóñez on their list of potential centre-back targets for 2026.
This report follows TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey noting that Chelsea and Aston Villa sent scouts to watch Ecuador during the international break. Both clubs are keeping an eye on Ordóñez as a potential addition to strengthen their backline, either in the January or next summer transfer window.
Moreover, in May, it was also reported that West Ham United are one club that has its sights set on Ordóñez. As a result, the defender has a lot of interest from Premier League clubs.
