Inter Milan center-forward Francesco Pio Esposito hailed the team’s reaction after yesterday’s 1-0 Serie A win over Atalanta.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the 20-year-old praised the Nerazzurri’s bounce-back mentality.
Bologna denied Cristian Chivu a chance to win his first silverware in charge of the San Siro giants last week.
Indeed, Vincenzo Italiano’s side knocked Inter out of the Supercoppa Italiana semi-finals after a dramatic penalty shootout.
Lautaro Martinez scored his 10th goal against Atalanta to inspire the Nerazzurri to a 1-0 victory in Bergamo.
Therefore, Chivu’s men have extended their winning league run to four games and will head into the new calendar year as pacesetters.
Meanwhile, Pio Esposito, who replaced Marcus Thuram midway through the second half, made an immediate impact.
He set up El Toro for the winning goal only two minutes after entering the pitch.

“I was fortunate to get a decisive chance straight after coming on, and I’m happy I made the most of it and made the right choice,” Esposito said.
“The credit then goes to Lautaro Martínez, because the most important and most difficult thing in this game is putting the ball in the net.
“So all good.”
Esposito then delivered his verdict on Inter’s dominant run against Atalanta.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri have won their last nine matches against La Dea.
“It was my first match against them,’ he said. “But of course I know very well that in recent years Inter have always managed to get the better of Atalanta.
“Still, it’s never easy. Even this time it wasn’t easy to come to this stadium and take all three points; it was very important.
“It was important to react after the defeat in Saudi Arabia, but I think that, overall, the path we’re on is positive.
“We just need to maintain continuity.
“Yes, it’s an important win, especially considering the venue and the opponent.
“It’s a big response, above all for ourselves.”
Asked what he believes Chivu thought about when he spoke about minor flaws, Esposito replied: “You’re putting me on the spot…
“I think every team has flaws. The coach knows ours because he sees us every day and knows where we need to improve.”
