Luka Modric, Lautaro Martinez and Nico Paz headline a Serie A mid-season XI in a 3-4-1-2.

According to L'Équipe, Inter, AC Milan, Naples, AS Rome and Juventus Turin are separated by few points, with a small gap to Bologne, Côme and Lazio.

With leaders using back threes, the XI features a No 10. Côme’s Nico Paz, revelation of 2025-2026 with six goals and six assists, fills it after scoring and assisting against Lecce on Saturday.

AS Rome have conceded 10, fewest in Europe’s top five leagues, so Mile Svilar starts and Gianluca Mancini anchors the right. The other spots go to Jacobo Ramon in the middle and Alessandro Bastoni on the left, ahead of Evan Ndicka, Matteo Gabbia, Amir Rrahmani and Jhon Lucumi. Ramon, 20, netted his first in the 3-0 win over Lecce.

In midfield, Luka Modric, 40, partners Hakan Calhanoglu, 31. The Inter man has six goals in 15 matches and balances both phases, while Modric has completed 970 passes and steadies a young AC Milan.

Alexis Saelemaekers takes the right wing-back slot, with only Wesley of AS Rome a rival. On the left, Juan Miranda is preferred to Federico Dimarco, whose middling season and defensive output count against him.

Up front, Lautaro Martinez, eight goals, and Christian Pulisic, seven, lead the line and the scoring charts. Pulisic, nicknamed Captain America in Italy, has been revitalised under Massimiliano Allegri. Lautaro, 28, tops the list without taking penalties.
