Midfielder Davide Frattesi looked lost in the centre of the pitch in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Inter Milan.

As TuttoMercatoWeb note, the Italian international came in for harsh criticism in the player ratings for the match. Particularly because of his culpability in Fiorentina’s opening goal.

Midfielder Davide Frattesi got what was a relatively rare start for him at the Stadio Artemio Franchi yesterday.

The 25-year-old had been at the centre of transfer rumours all throughout the January window.

The reason for this is that Frattesi reportedly wants more playing time. He feels that he has not been given enough opportunities to play, particularly as a starter.

And Frattesi did get the chance to be in the lineup yesterday against Fiorentina.

However, it would be fair to say that the former Sassuolo midfielder did not make the most of it.

The consensus in the player ratings for the match is that Davide Frattesi simply did not offer what Nicolo Barella can in Inter’s midfield trio.

In possession, particularly, the 25-year-old was lacking.

Frattesi gave the ball away far too many times. He rushed his passes, and made the Nerazzurri midfield look disjointed.

Then, defensively it was also a subpar shift from Frattesi.

Never short on energy, the Italian international nevertheless lacked the awareness to stop too many Fiorentina counterattacks.

And then, it was Frattesi who failed to react to a Luca Ranieri run from outside the penalty area as the Fiorentina defender opened the scoring in the second half.
