Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly announce Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke as their third signing of the summer transfer window this evening.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have agreed a deal with the Seagulls and the Dutchman is now set to officially join Spurs.
The Lilywhites have already announced the signings of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi after they joined as free agents following the expiration of their contracts at Liverpool and Bournemouth, respectively.
Yves Bissouma has moved in the other direction following the end of his Tottenham contract.
More additions and departures are on the cards and pipping competition to Van Hecke is huge.
The Netherlands international is currently at the World Cup and Spurs fans will be keeping an eye on their soon-to-be new player.
The 26-year-old has undergone and passed his medical in Kansas having been unable to travel to North London for one.
Van Hecke has already agreed personal terms with Tottenham, and a £52 million deal has been agreed between both clubs.
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi will now concentrate on strengthening in midfield and attack.
The club opted against signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha permanently after his loan spell and are expected to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
They have recently been credited with interest in Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, with the England international preferred to Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali.
Lille star Ayyoub Bouaddi is also reportedly an option for Spurs in the middle of the park, and more names could emerge in the coming weeks.
