Jeglertz joined the club as head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season and his side have truly flourished, going from strength to strength each week under his guidance.

City fans have enjoyed an impressive spell so far with just two defeats in the Barclays Women’s Super League and an Adobe Women’s FA Cup Semi-Final on the horizon.

With a new manager and a new style of play it could seem quite daunting to adapt to, but Hemp was full of praise for the Swede as the manager wraps up his first season with the Blues.

“I think it took a little while for us all to settle in and be with the new manager because obviously we haven’t had one for so long,” she said.

“It took a few weeks and we went away to La Manga and figured out the way he wants to play and he’s still got so much structure and things that he wants us to do.

“He’s got a style of play and we try and do that while also having this bit of freedom, but it took us a little while and being out with my ankle injury didn’t help either, but it made me see the team from a different perspective and see the way he wants people to play.

“Being able to see that from the side, I feel like that helped me a lot knowing that when I come back these are the things that I need to do and what he wants to see from me and I feel like ever since I have come back he’s always been pulling me and reassuring me or telling me things to improve on.

“He’s pretty easy going, but he’ll also tell you when he wants to see better from you, but he’s a great manager.”

And the England international believes Jeglertz has brought a ruthlessness to the side that they didn’t have before.

“This season we don’t just want to win games,” she explained.

“We want to try and win them convincingly and when you score one goal it starts to have doubts in the other team’s mind and you could quite easily then go and get a second goal.

“It’s just being ruthless where we can and this season as well we’ve created so many more chances, we’ve got the ball up higher, quicker and that’s probably why then we’re scoring more goals.”

Hemp also went into detail on the latest podcast about her iconic celebration against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium – explaining how her Strength and Conditioning coach was the brains behind it.

“I haven’t got a celebration, so while I was in rehab I was trying to think of different ways to celebrate and my S&C coach he came up with that, so the credit goes to him,” Hemp added.

“But I’ve tried to use it now and again but the other week I actually forgot to do it after I scored against Sheffield United because I hadn’t scored in so long that I completely forgot I had a celebration.”
