PA reports that Jermain Defoe has been appointed Woking manager.
He will be joined by assistant coach Paul Bracewell, while interim bosses Craig Ross and Jake Hyde remain in the backroom team alongside Dale Gorman.
Ross and Hyde will take charge of Tuesday’s home league game against Altrincham.
Defoe, recently linked with a possible return to Tottenham, described Woking as a historic club with huge potential and said he was thrilled to join and eager to get started.
He has coached in Tottenham’s academy and briefly worked as part of a four-man caretaker team at Rangers in 2021. As a player he featured for West Ham, Portsmouth and Sunderland, scoring 20 goals in 57 England appearances.
