John Souttar is nearing a Rangers exit, with Sheffield United leading the chase among several English Championship clubs, according to SunSport.

The 29-year-old Scotland defender and striker Danilo did not travel to Spain for the club’s warm-weather camp last week. Both stayed in Glasgow to sort their immediate futures, and clubs in Holland and Greece are monitoring Danilo.

United manager Chris Wilder is a long-term admirer, and talks are said to be ongoing, with Souttar described as almost certain to leave Ibrox this summer.

The former Hearts player signed a new contract in February that runs until May 2027.

Rangers have been linked with Philadelphia Union centre-back Olwethu Makhanya as an immediate replacement. He was proposed to the club a few weeks ago, but he is not one that features prominently on Derek McInnes’ radar as the Rangers boss continues to overhaul his squad.
