Jorginho and Arrascaeta return as Flamengo name squad for Brasileirão opener | OneFootball

Flamengo have named Arrascaeta, Jorginho and Ayrton Lucas in their squad for Wednesday’s Brasileirão opener against São Paulo at Morumbis, with kick-off at 21:30 Brasília time.

According to Globo.com, Luiz Araújo, Allan and Michael are absent, with Araújo managing muscle pain under a workload plan, and the other two omitted for technical reasons.

Among the youngsters who began the Carioca with the under-20s, Daniel Sales, Douglas Telles, Guilherme Gomes and Pablo Lucio will travel with the group.

Danilo, De la Cruz and Saúl remain unavailable. The defender is expected to be back for the Supercopa do Brasil against Corinthians and is in the final phase of recovery from a left knee problem sustained in 2025.

The Uruguayan midfielder continues on a planned conditioning programme. Saúl has returned to Rio de Janeiro and reported on Tuesday to continue treatment at the club following heel surgery.
