Jose Mourinho has a mountain to climb this week. He saw his Fenerbahce team lose 3-1 at the hands of the Rangers in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie. Overturning that sort of a result away at Ibrox in the second leg won't be an easy task. But there is more than that that Celtic fans will be worried about.
When asked about managing in Glasgow one day, Mourinho did not rule it out, although he did ascertain that he is happy at Fenerbahce. There are some who believe though that with the 49ers group set to takeover the Rangers, the Ibrox door could soon open for the Portuguese manager.
That seems a bit far-fetched, to be honest. But then again, not many would have expected Mourinho to manage Fenerbahce either, and there he is.
Well-known Celtic supporter, Alan Brazil, has made it clear though that Mourinho should not even think about managing the Rangers. There is only one place to go in Glasgow.
As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Brazil said on talkSPORT about Mourinho possibly becoming Rangers boss:
"Don’t even think of going there, Jose.“There is only one place to go. Don’t even think about it."
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Mourinho. He has managed some of the biggest clubs in world football. His last two spells have come at AS Roma and Fenerbahce though.
Now, those two teams would not fall under the category of 'biggest' clubs in the world. But they certainly have brilliant fanbases. Could the same thing draw him to Glasgow one day? It possibly could, especially as he approaches the twilight of his career.
Of course, if Mourinho does end up in Glasgow one day, it is very clear which club Celtic fans would want him to be at. It would be a blockbuster appointment, to say the least.
