A Bola reports that José Mourinho is expected in Madrid at the end of this week, after the final round of La Liga when Real Madrid host Athletic Bilbao on Saturday 23 May.
He is then expected to start work next week, ending his spell at Benfica.

Monday brought a flurry at the club, amid suggestions he had been at Seixal to inform Rui Costa of his decision to leave.
The report said he is expected to sign a contract until 2028, with an option for a further year.
That would undercut his message at Amoreira, where he put the likelihood of staying at 99%.
It also means turning down Benfica’s renewal offer to 2028, potentially extending to 2029 based on performance targets.
With the squad on holiday, Rui Costa must now lead the search for a successor aligned to the club’s project.
