Mexico international Julian Quinones has won the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot, pipping Cristiano Ronaldo and Ivan Toney after a final-day surge. According to Goal.com, the Al-Qadsiah forward finished as top scorer following a decisive display.
Quinones struck a hat-trick in Al-Qadsiah's 5-1 win over Al Ittihad on the final day, taking his season total to 33.
He started the round on 30, with Toney leading on 32 and Ronaldo on 26, and ended it clear at the top.
Ronaldo scored twice in Al-Nassr's 4-1 victory over Damac to finish on 28 and clinch the title for his team, but he missed out on a third successive Golden Boot.
Toney, leading the line for Al-Ahli, could not find the net against Al-Khaleej and concluded the campaign second on 32.
Despite the new champion, Ronaldo still holds the single-season benchmark, a record 35 goals in 31 appearances in 2023-24 that neither Quinones nor Toney matched.
For Quinones the timing of this accolade looks ideal with the 2026 World Cup approaching, sending a clear message to Mexico manager Javier Aguirre that his form suggests he is ready for a bigger international role.
