Just in: Anthony Gordon passes Barcelona medicals ahead of €80 million transfer | OneFootball

According to SPORT, Anthony Gordon has passed his medical ahead of completing his transfer from Newcastle United to FC Barcelona.

The English winger landed in the Catalan capital on Thursday aboard a private jet from England after several delays affected his flight. Now, the final steps of the transfer are being taken care of before an official announcement arrives.

As per the report, Gordon’s arrival initially been scheduled for around 14:00, although the aircraft eventually landed almost an hour and a half later than expected.

Upon leaving the private terminal at Barcelona-El Prat Airport, Gordon delivered his first words as a future Barcelona player, pending his medical examination and official confirmation.

“I am very happy,” he told reporters.

Following that, Gordon underwent and passed his medical examination at Hospital de Barcelona, a decisive final step before signing his new contract as a Blaugrana player.

Barcelona and Newcastle United completed the operation for a fee worth around €70 million fixed, plus approximately €10 million in variables, following intense negotiations led by Deco.

Gordon will sign an agreement covering the next five seasons and will become the first major signing of the club’s 2026/27 project.

His agents, Will Salthouse and Adam Dugdale, are currently at Deco’s office completing the final paperwork on behalf of their client.
