Nico Gonzalez appears to be heading for the exit at Juventus after a disappointing season and a lack of fit in Igor Tudor’s tactical plans, according to Bianconera News. The Argentine winger, signed from Fiorentina with high expectations and at significant cost, struggled to deliver the hoped-for impact in Turin. With Tudor making it clear he has little use for traditional wingers in his preferred system, Gonzalez has now landed on the club’s list of players available for transfer.
Juventus, eager to avoid a financial loss on their investment, may soon find a solution from the Saudi Pro League. Al Ahli have reportedly stepped up interest, preparing an offer in the region of €30 million for the 26-year-old. Such a deal would allow the Bianconeri to recoup a significant portion of their outlay on Gonzalez and move on from what is now regarded internally as a misstep in recruitment, without having to accept a substantial discount in European markets.
From the player’s side, the move is no longer unwelcome. Gonzalez has reportedly accepted the possibility of a transfer to Saudi Arabia, including the prospect of a lucrative contract, recognizing both the lack of opportunities under Tudor and the appeal of the offer from Al Ahli. His status as an Argentina international and member of the World Cup-winning squad continues to make him an attractive target, particularly for ambitious clubs in leagues eager to import established names.
For Juventus, offloading Gonzalez could help unlock budget flexibility as they seek to reshape the squad under the new manager. With other pure wingers also deemed surplus to requirements, and the club’s transfer market moves otherwise constrained until key assets are sold, the proposed Al Ahli deal is viewed as timely.
No formal agreement has been reached, but discussions are reported to be at an advanced stage. Should the transfer go through for the suggested sum, it would bring swift closure to a chapter that has not met expectations for either the player or Juventus, and allow both parties to move forward as the summer window progresses.
