Kaminski ‘to join’ Benfica as talks near completion | OneFootball

Benfica are accelerating plans to bolster Marco Silva’s squad, with Jakub Kaminski close to joining. According to Glorioso 1904, negotiations are advanced and a deal could be completed in the coming days.

The 24-year-old Poland international is coming off a strong season at Cologne, where he recorded seven goals and three assists in 36 matches. Signed permanently after a loan from Wolfsburg, he quickly increased his value and Benfica are ready to invest around 20 million euros. RB Leipzig also showed interest, but Benfica have moved ahead.

Kaminski offers intensity and versatility, operating on either wing and carrying the ball with purpose. He works both ways and was among the players who covered the most kilometres in the Bundesliga last season.

There remains scope to improve his dribbling in tight spaces and his one-v-one effectiveness.

Despite his age, he is regarded as mature and a leader, an important presence in the dressing rooms of Poland and Cologne. Those traits could ease his integration under Marco Silva.

Sergio Arribas and Darío Osorio have also been linked recently, yet Kaminski is currently the leading candidate to reinforce the attack. If confirmed, he would join Clément Lenglet and Gabriel Índio, both already announced this summer.
