Fresh from another remarkable campaign with Bayern Munich, Harry Kane arrives at the 2026 World Cup in the form of his life. The England captain scored an astonishing 60 goals across all competitions during the 2025/26 season, helping Bayern secure a second consecutive Bundesliga title as well as DFB-Pokal glory.

It is not only Bayern who depend heavily on the prolific striker. England’s hopes of ending their long wait for major international silverware also rest heavily on Kane’s shoulders as the Three Lions pursue their first World Cup triumph since 1966.

The 32-year-old has carried his club form onto the international stage, netting eight goals in eight qualifying matches to help England book their place at this summer’s tournament.

Speaking ahead of England’s opening group-stage clash, Kane expressed his belief that this squad has a genuine opportunity to make history.

“This is one of the best opportunities we will have as a team to win the World Cup. I’d say from a personal point of view it was the best season I’ve ever had from a factual point of view of scoring a lot more goals than what I have in any other previous season, which is obviously pleasing. I think also just physically and mentally the way the season ended for me was obviously great.”

England begin their World Cup campaign later this evening when they take on Croatia in Arlington, Texas, with kick-off scheduled for 22:00 CEST.
