Kayke regains footing under Dorival Júnior and targets fresh run in Corinthians XI | OneFootball

Kayke has reclaimed his place under Dorival Júnior at Corinthians at the start of this season. The forward started the draw with São Paulo and is aiming to start again against Santos on Thursday.

Since his promotion to the senior squad in 2024, opportunities had been limited. According to Meu Timao, he gained more minutes in the second half of last year, with 11 of his 14 first-team appearances coming under the current coaching staff.

It was also under Dorival that he produced his first and only run as a starter, beginning against Vasco and Athletico-PR in August 2025. The number 31 could enjoy a second consecutive run if selected against Santos.

Dorival has rotated his squad, using his main XI against Ponte Preta and São Paulo, then resting them at least for the first half of the 3-0 defeat to Red Bull Bragantino. Kayke featured with the starters and was spared when the reserves played.

In this new spell, he hopes to turn solid displays into goals. He has one assist from 14 senior outings, supplied in the 1-1 draw with Juventude on the final day of the 2025 Brasileirão. Establishing himself could also support a renewal, with his current deal running to 30 June 2027.
