Kieran Trippier to leave Newcastle at end of season

Kieran Trippier will leave Newcastle United when his contract expires this summer.

The 35-year-old right-back joined the club from Atlético Madrid in January 2022, following the Saudi-led takeover. He quickly became a regular under Eddie Howe, helping Newcastle move from a relegation battle to competing in European football.

Trippier made over 150 appearances for the Magpies and was part of the team that qualified for the Champions League in 2023 and 2025. He also played in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup-winning side last season, the club’s first major domestic trophy in 70 years.

His contract runs until the end of the 2025-26 season, after which he will depart St James’ Park.
