Kylian Mbappe offers support to Lamine Yamal – “I think they have to leave him alone” | OneFootball

In recent months, Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal has attracted criticism over controversies in his personal life. On this topic, he has been defended by number personnel close to him, but now one of his “rivals” has also offered his backing.

Speaking to Movistar+ (via Sport), Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe was asked for his thoughts on Lamine Yamal’s off-field antics, and as far as he is concerned, the Barcelona star should be left alone.

“I think it’s a different time. He plays for a club that is much bigger than mine, with all due respect to Monaco. I don’t think there is a solution, he will have his experience. He has a passion for football and it’s the only thing he doesn’t have to lose. People talk a lot about his personal life, but I think they have to leave him alone.

“You have to understand that in football he is a great player, but in life he is an 18-year-old boy. Everyone makes mistakes. We have to look only at what he does on the pitch, the rest is not important if it is not serious. He has great talent and he will have his way as he wants it. I wish him the best of luck.”

Mbappe: “I have a very good relationship with Vinicius Junior”

Mbappe also took the opportunity to dismiss any reported friction between himself and Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior, with the pair’s supposed lack of chemistry also being addressed.

“I think that more than in Spain are humans, it is the same in France or England. Two famous players on the same team sell a lot of papers. I have a very good relationship with Vinicius, much better this year that we have gotten to know each other more as players. We have the same objective: to win titles with Real Madrid. If we want to do it we have to be at our best.”
