With the Premier League and EFL seasons finished, transfer focus is sharpening across the Midlands, from Wolves’ keeper plans to Leeds’ interest in Ladislav Krejci.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves are likely to recruit a goalkeeper, with Jose Sa saying he intends to leave and Sam Johnstone’s future uncertain. They are also viewed as contenders for Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson, set to cost about £8m. The promotion winner will depart the Black Cats after spending half of last season at Millwall, with the Lions among several suitors.
Liverpool are said to be closing in on Wolves prospect Zach Trinder, 14, who has played for England under 15s and featured at under 18 level. He is regarded as a leading keeper in his age group.
Leeds are claimed to be ready to ramp up their pursuit of Krejci, with Daniel Farke impressed by his displays despite Wolves’ relegation. He has been one of their better performers.
Wolves have triggered an option to buy at around £26m after his initial loan. Leeds are said to be prepared to offer near that figure and do not see the valuation as a barrier.
Albion midfielder Isaac Price has been linked with three Premier League clubs. The view is that, unless a huge bid arrives, keeping him suits all parties, with scope to develop and lead next season. A bigger move may come later, but not this summer.
Aston Villa want to keep Morgan Rogers as Arsenal and Chelsea are set to test the water with a sizeable bid, with PSG also in the frame. Villa hope to retain a prized asset.
Full-back Andres Garcia, courted by Valencia last week, is now attracting Greek interest, with Olympiacos set to offer a one-year loan with an option to buy. He has had limited minutes and remains under contract for three years.
