Lamine Yamal has been in the news of late, with his off-the-pitch lifestyle causing some concerns at Barcelona, even prompting sporting director Deco to seek the intervention of his agent, Jorge Mendes.
Now, Yamal has once again grabbed the headlines and for the wrong reasons as well, after claiming Real Madrid ‘steal and complain’, just days before El Clasico.
In an interaction with Kings League club Porcinos’ president, Ibai Llanos, the Barcelona star, when asked if Porcinos reminded him of Real Madrid, he said, “Yes, they steal, they complain.”
According to Mundo Deportivo, the statement from Lamine Yamal did not sit well with Real Madrid, who consider his comment ‘disrespectful’.
Even within the Barcelona camp, Yamal’s comment has been broadly seen as ‘stupid’, and something that does not reflect well on him.

Now, with Real Madrid clearly hurt from Yamal’s statement, the club’s senior player, Dani Carvajal, is expected to speak to Yamal after El Clasico on Sunday.
One can only imagine how hostile the environment might become for young Yamal, especially considering the fact that the match will be held at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The young forward is sure to receive a lot of boos from Real Madrid fans, and his confidence could be severely impacted, especially if Barcelona end up losing the game.
Not to mention, his comments against Real Madrid might reflect poorly on his image in the Spanish national team, where he shares the dressing room with some Real Madrid players, including Carvajal.
Yamal’s conversation with Carvajal, therefore, could be critical this weekend as the Real Madrid veteran looks to pacify the Barcelona winger, who has been under fire for his lifestyle and behaviour.
