Lazio are reportedly interested in Norwich City youngster Oscar Schwartau, as they continue to search the market for an attacking midfielder.
Gennaro Gattuso is planning to abandon Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 formation in favor of more progressive 4-2-3-1 system, but his squad still lacks some of the personnel, especially a natural playmaker behind the striker.
According to Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Schawrtou has now been offered to the Biancocelesti through his entourage, who also represent current Lazio players Oliver Provstgaard and Gustav Isaksen, as well as Bayern Munich youngster Jonathan Asp Jensen, who is said to be close to joining the Italian capital club.
Schwartau is a 20-year-old attacking midfielder who began his career at Brondby IF. In 2022, He became the club’s youngest-ever first-team player at 16 years and 61 days. In 2024, the Dane completed a transfer to Norwich City for €2.5 million.
This season, the midfielder established himself as a regular starter for the Canaries. He made 38 appearances across all competitions, contributing with four goals and two assists, as the club finished the season in 9th place in the Championship table. The youngster’s contract with the English side is valid until June 2028, with an option for another year, while Transfermarkt estimates his value at €7 million.
The Roman newspaper claims Schwartau is one of several names currently being considered at Lazio, but the club has yet to make any concrete moves or open a dialogue with Norwich. The Biancocelesti are believed to be in advanced negotiations for fellow Dane, Asp Jensen, who is also an attacking midfielder, while Gattuso reportedly favors Dinamo Zagreb’s Luka Stojkovic for the role.
