Lazio turn 125 on Thursday, and the club is marking this special occasion by launching a retro jersey that the players will don on Friday’s Serie A contest against Como.
The Biancocelesti faithful held wild celebrations in the streets of Rome on Wednesday evening as they waited for the clock to signal midnight. Moreover, the club is preparing for a special evening on Friday when they host Cesc Fabregas’ team at the Stadio Olimpico. The club’s head of marketing Marco Canigiani teased the club’s plans (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).
We have prepared something that has never been seen at the Olimpico, it will be a nice way to celebrate 125 years. A small bright show, not the one you usually see. A moment before the match in which we will celebrate our beloved Lazio.
The Aquile have now unveiled a special jersey that will commemorate the occasion, featuring the club’s old crest from the 70s and 80s. It also includes the date of Lazio’s birth on the back (January 9th, 1900).
The club’s official website explained the concept behind the jersey, while the official X account dropped a video that looked back on the rich history of the Italian capital side, ending with some of their current star wearing the newly unveiled jersey.

The Lazio logo, a stylised eagle with two large wings, between which the head of the imperial symbol stands out, stands out on the right of the new shirt at heart level, with the Mizuno logo on the left, both in blue.
