Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani confirmed Alfonso Pedraza has signed a pre-contract to join in the summer, while Diogo Leite could soon follow despite an injury pause.

According to The Laziali, three of the club’s five winter arrivals were unveiled on Friday, and Fabiani used the event to set out the transfer picture.

Pedraza, the 29-year-old Spanish left-back, will arrive as a free agent once his Villarreal contract expires, with his deal already signed and July set for his arrival.

Talks with Leite, the 27-year-old left-footed Union Berlin defender whose contract is expiring, are close. He could replace the wantaway Alessio Romagnoli. There is a broad agreement with his lawyer, and an injury will sideline him for six to seven weeks, with a decision due shortly on commitment.

Lazio also attempted to sign Davide Frattesi, though he was not named, but Inter opted to keep him at Appiano Gentile.

Fabiani said Lazio have not weakened and praised the new arrivals, noting this is the 64th window he has handled. Some deals always collapse, and an Inter target could have joined on loan with an option to buy, but clubs follow their own strategy. He insisted Lazio do not do favours, only sign to fit the project, and that the pitch will judge work done in good faith.
