Leeds host title-chasing Manchester City at Elland Road on Saturday evening, with significant injury developments on both sides. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, several key players have returned while one major absentee remains for City.

Daniel Farke’s side are six points clear of the relegation zone with 11 matches left after a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa. City beat Newcastle United 2-1, and both City and Arsenal know winning every remaining match would secure the title, with the leaders five points ahead, having played a game more, and still to visit the Etihad.

Dan James is back in the squad after a hamstring tendon injury suffered in November’s defeat at City. He returned to training last week and was an unused substitute at Villa, having previously missed the FA Cup tie at Birmingham City with back pain.

Pascal Struijk has returned from a hip problem and completed the match at Villa. Anton Stach, also back from a hip issue, started there, struck a superb free-kick and played 83 minutes.

Gabi Gudmundsson has recovered from the illness that forced his half-time withdrawal in the 1-1 draw at Villa, easing Leeds’ worries on the left flank.

For City, Brazilian winger Savinho is available again after a quad injury picked up in the goalless draw at Sunderland on New Year’s Day. He made the bench against Newcastle but did not come on.

Josko Gvardiol remains out, the Croatia defender recovering from a tibial fracture to his right leg sustained in January’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
