Leeds confirm Isaac Schmidt exit to Young Boys, fee understood to be £2m | OneFootball

Leeds United have confirmed the permanent departure of full-back Isaac Schmidt to BSC Young Boys, with the Swiss defender returning home. The fee is undisclosed, and according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds will receive around £2m.

Schmidt leaves two years into a four-year contract after limited opportunities at Elland Road. He made only two starts under Daniel Farke and featured 14 times during the club’s Championship title-winning campaign.

The 26-year-old spent 2025/26 on loan at Werder Bremen, playing 19 matches, with the Bundesliga side opting against a permanent deal.

First-team chances were restricted and he now departs on a permanent basis, returning to the Swiss Super League side. Leeds have wished him well for the future.

Meanwhile, Sassuolo centre-back Tarik Muharemovic is flying into the region today to complete a medical and finalise his move. A £34m agreement is in place and he will replace Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton for £20m earlier this summer.
