Leeds confirm Isaac Schmidt sale to Young Boys, fee around £2m | OneFootball

Leeds United have confirmed the permanent departure of full-back Isaac Schmidt to Swiss Super League side BSC Young Boys. The 26-year-old leaves Elland Road two years into a four-year deal.

The fee is undisclosed, with yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk understanding it to be around £2m.

Schmidt made 14 appearances during the club’s Sky Bet Championship title-winning season, but started only twice under Daniel Farke. He spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Werder Bremen, featuring 19 times, and the Bundesliga side did not pursue a permanent move.

Leeds thanked Schmidt for his contribution and wished him well for the future.

As one defender exits, another is en route. Sassuolo centre-back Tarik Muharemovic is flying into the region today to complete a medical and sign. Leeds have agreed a £34m fee and are finalising their second summer addition.

Muharemovic will come in to replace Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton earlier this summer for £20m.
