Leeds United loanee Harry Gray missed Rotherham United’s trip to Peterborough United through injury in what became Hamshaw’s final match in charge, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.
The Leeds striker moved to the Millers on loan in January for the second half of the 2025/26 season and has been a regular selection.
Across 12 appearances the 17-year-old has played more than 1,000 senior minutes, the game time Leeds sought from the move. He has scored two goals.
Gray was left out of the squad on Tuesday night with a slight hamstring issue. Rotherham were beaten 5-0 at Peterborough, and on Wednesday morning the club confirmed Hamshaw’s exit and began the process of appointing a new first-team manager.
It has not been confirmed whether Gray will stay with Rotherham to rehabilitate the minor problem or return to Thorp Arch.
