Leeds United have set out their position on Shea Charles, making it clear to Southampton after lodging a fresh offer.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the latest proposal is Leeds’ best and final offer. Saints are understood to be holding out closer to their valuation, with previous indications they could seek as much as £30m. Leeds would revisit only if Southampton’s stance changes, but they will hold firm on their current terms.
The Whites submitted two earlier bids this summer having identified the Northern Ireland international for Daniel Farke’s Premier League midfield. Southampton rejected both approaches.
There have been suggestions that Crystal Palace and Fulham have shown interest or begun to prepare bids for the 23-year-old.
Charles has 35 caps for his country. He started 21 Championship matches last season and has more than 100 second-tier appearances, scoring in cup ties against Arsenal and Liverpool and in the play-off semi-final win over Middlesbrough.
