Leeds United have initiated discussions to sign Lyon attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc this summer, according to Foot Mercato.
The Whites have already brought Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic to Elland Road, and Sulc could be next to join them.
He caught the eye last season after bagging 11 goals and three assists in 27 Ligue 1 appearances in his debut campaign following a €7.5 million switch.
Sulc was one of the revelations of the season, recording 15 goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
He is valued at around €25 million and has a contract that runs until 2029.
While several other Premier League clubs are also in the race, it appears Leeds have made progress in recent days.
Sulc is one of the smartest value opportunities on the market for a player who has already proved he can deliver in Ligue 1.
He is coming from one of Europe’s top five leagues and arguably the closest stylistic match to the Premier League outside England.
The pace, athleticism and physical duels should make his transition far smoother than players arriving from less demanding competitions.
Leeds need far more than just bodies if they are to avoid another return to the Championship.
They require attackers capable of producing goals and assists under pressure, and Sulc has shown he can do exactly that.
His versatility across the attacking line would also give Leeds manager Daniel Farke more tactical flexibility while creating healthy competition for places.
If Leeds can land a proven international entering his prime for around €25m, it could prove to be one of the bargains of the summer.
