Leeds United are looking to sign Santiago Bueno and Ladislav Krejci from Wolves at the end of the season.
Wolves will compete in the Championship next season, and the two players will be tempted to move on. The opportunity to continue in the Premier League will be attractive for them. It remains to be seen whether Leeds can secure an agreement with the West Midlands club.
Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Bueno has done okay for Wolves this season, he’s played more this season than he has done since his arrival at Molineux in 2023 and he’s impressed. “Leeds have been linked with Ladislav Krejci as well, his Wolves teammate, so it’s an area of the squad that Daniel Farke really wants to improve in. “Especially if they’re going to continue with three centre-backs, because the formation has been a revelation for Leeds, they’re going to have to add options. “That’s why Bueno is one of the players they’re looking at, and Krejci as well.”
Bueno and Krejci have shown they have the quality to continue in the top flight, and they could prove useful acquisitions for the Whites. They will need to tighten up at the back if they want to continue playing in the Premier League. The two players will certainly help them improve defensively.
Both players are well settled in the Premier League, and they could make an immediate impact. Leeds United are still fighting for survival in the Premier League, but they are well placed to secure safety. They will need to improve the team during the summer transfer window in order to do well next season.
Adding a couple of quality defenders could prove wise. They should look to improve in the middle of the park as well. It remains to be seen whether they can bring in the necessary additions over the next few weeks.
Wolves will not want to lose key players in the summer, but they are powerless to stop players like Bueno and Krejci from leaving. Top players will not want to compete in the second division, and they are likely to push for a move away from the club.
