Leeds United have appointed Greek philanthropist Andreas Dracopoulos to their board following a personal investment in the club. The club said in a statement that he brings extensive business and philanthropic experience.
The board now comprises chairman Paraag Marathe, vice-chairman Andrew Schwartzberg, and members Peter Lowy, Eugene Schneur and Robbie Evans.
Born and raised in Athens, Dracopoulos took out his first official Leeds membership 50 years ago and is well known to the 49ers.
He is co-chairman of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, a private international philanthropic organisation that funds projects worldwide aimed at achieving broad, lasting social impact.
Through SNF, more than 3,100 non-profits have benefited globally, and he has also supported initiatives across the arts, culture and medicine.
