Leeds United reported record revenue of £137m for 2024/25, the season they won the Championship, yet still posted a £49.2m pre-tax loss.

The club said in its published accounts that strong commercial performance reflects the potential of being the only club in the United Kingdom's third biggest metropolitan area, adding it should provide a structural advantage to help retain Premier League status over the long term.

Commercial income rose to £58.1m from £43.3m, higher than in any of their three Premier League seasons before relegation. Matchday revenue edged up to £31.6m, while broadcast income fell to £47.2m from £53.6m.

The £49.2m loss for the year ending June 2025 was down from £60.8m, but the three-year rolling deficit reached £143.7m. That exceeds the £61m Profitability and Sustainability Rules allowance for 2022 to 2025, although certain expenses can be deducted.

Wages totalled £107.7m, a 28 per cent year-on-year rise and an average of £45,000 per week. Among Championship clubs to have published accounts, Sunderland are next on £54m, while Burnley have yet to file.

Football net debt fell 87 per cent from £128.3m to £16.3m, with money from the 49ers enterprise ownership group enabling summer investment. Investor cash for 2024/25 totalled £108m.
