Leeds' fine Premier League campaign ended with a 3-0 defeat at relegated West Ham. Daniel Farke called it a game too far without key players, despite returns for Pascal Struijk and Jayden Bogle.

In the heat Leeds wilted and West Ham ran out winners. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Jaka Bijol was Leeds' standout until he departed with the score at 1-0.

The away end made mischief, chanting a roll call of West Ham's 2026/27 opponents and applauding at full-time. Defeat meant 14th when a win might have brought 12th, extra cash and an extended unbeaten run.

Brenden Aaronson struggled, turning down a clear shot to seek a free-kick and hitting tamely when he did shoot. Joe Rodon was beaten as West Ham scored from a corner, a rare off-day after a steady season. Home anger focused on the board after each goal.

Darren Emmerson DJed the warm-up, and Leeds fans joined a tribute to Hammers lost, capped by Billy Bonds' image. Ampadu and referee Anthony Taylor shared a brief cuddle before kick-off. During play he needled sub Callum Wilson over a long throw, then railed at a later decision, and at half-time the announcer tried to whip up cheers for Emmerson.

After treatment for a collision, Ampadu checked on Crysencio Summerville before both returned. Post-match, Struijk sought out Summerville to console him, as others did. Some home fans left chanting no VAR, and both of West Ham's first two goals brought fury towards David Sullivan and the board.
