Leeds United loanee Mateo Joseph has publicly thanked sacked RCD Mallorca head coach Jagoba Arrasate, with the La Liga club in the relegation zone.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Arrasate left on Monday after a third consecutive defeat, with Mallorca 18th and one point from safety.

Mallorca have lost seven of their past 10 matches, including a Copa del Rey exit to Deportivo. The club wants to open a new chapter to reverse the current dynamic and face the remaining challenges with the best chances.

Joseph posted a message of gratitude on social media, thanking Arrasate for trusting him from day one and for what he learned, and wishing him well with respect.

The 22-year-old has started 15 league games and come on nine times, recording two league goals and three assists. He has not always played through the middle, featuring on the right wing on occasion.

Joseph prompted headlines last summer when he declined to join a pre-season camp in Germany against Daniel Farke’s wishes as he sought a move to Spain. Leeds refused to sell but sanctioned a loan for the 2025/26 campaign.

In his absence, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been Leeds’ first-choice number 9 with 10 Premier League goals. Lukas Nmecha has added six in the top flight, while Joel Piroe has remained an option despite limited minutes. Harry Gray joined League One Rotherham United on loan for the second half of the season.
