Arrigo Sacchi has waxed lyrical about Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu as the Nerazzurri head into the new calendar year as the Serie A leaders.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, Sacchi also confirmed that he views Inter as the ‘best equipped’ team to win the Scudetto.
Cristian Chivu is making strides at San Siro despite being relatively new to senior management.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri sit at the top of the Serie A table heading into the new calendar year, boasting a one-point lead over AC Milan.
Despite suffering four defeats in the opening 16 rounds, Inter have established themselves as pacesetters.
However, only four points separate the top five teams at the halfway point of the season, suggesting the Scudetto race could go down to the wire.
Reigning holders Napoli are only two points adrift of Inter.
Meanwhile, Roma and Juventus have emerged as potential candidates to clinch the title.

“They say Inter is the favorite because they are top of the table,” the legendary AC Milan coach said.
“However, the standings are very tight and the Nerazzurri have had several stumbles in this season.
“They have the best-equipped squad to win the title, yet this squad doesn’t always manage to perform at its full potential.
“Chivu is doing an excellent job,” Sacchi continued. “He has given the team a clear playing identity.
“Now Inter is much more vertical compared to the side led by Simone Inzaghi, presses more frequently, and plays higher up the pitch.
“Moreover, they have a truly formidable attack.
“Having four forwards like Lautaro, Thuram, Pio Esposito, and Bonny is a guarantee for a coach, whose only job is to observe them well in training and then send onto the pitch whoever is performing best.”
