Ayden Heaven, Matthijs de Ligt and Victor Lindelof formed the back three.

Joshua Zirkzee was handed a well-earned rest, allowing Christian Eriksen to step into the left number 10 role.

Rasmus Hojlund brought an end to his goal drought by netting the opener in the 28th minute.

Alejandro Garnacho doubled United’s lead with an emphatic finish in the second half.

Captain Bruno Fernandes sealed the three points with his 90th-minute goal.

Player Ratings

Andre Onana – 6/10

The goalkeeper was a mere spectator for most of the game, rarely called into action.

Matthijs de Ligt – 8/10

Onana had De Ligt to thank for preserving the clean sheet, as the Dutch defender produced a brilliant block to deny Facundo Buonanotte in the 75th-minute.

Victor Lindelof – 6/10

Allowed Leicester a chance to threaten United’s clean sheet after being shrugged off by Jamie Vardy.

Ayden Heaven – 8/10

Heaven’s ability was on full display in the first 45 minutes. He was United’s standout performer but was unfortunately stretchered off after the break.

Noussair Mazraoui – 7/10

Mazraoui displayed remarkable versatility, seamlessly adapting to three different positions while maintaining composure throughout the game.

Diogo Dalot – 7/10

Dalot’s misplaced cut-back pass early in the game denied Eriksen a goalscoring opportunity.

The Portuguese wing-back showed his quality with a fantastic assist to Fernandes.

Manuel Ugarte – 6/10

Ugarte played with intensity, but he seems like a player who thrives best with a consistent run of games.

Bruno Fernandes – 9/10

Another classy display from the United captain.

Fernandes showcased his brilliant vision to set up Hojlund, played a crucial role in Garnacho’s goal, and capped off his performance with a sublime first-time finish into the far corner.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7/10

The young winger hit the net twice, but VAR ruled his first effort offside.

He made no mistake the second time, drilling a low strike past Leicester’s goalkeeper to register his first league goal under Ruben Amorim.

Christian Eriksen – 6/10

The veteran midfielder unleashed a stunning long-range strike, beating the goalkeeper, only to be denied by the crossbar.

Rasmus Hojlund – 7/10

A huge relief for the Denmark international as he ended his three-month goal drought. He struck from a tight angle with confidence, reminding everyone of his lethal finishing ability.

Substitutions

Toby Collyer – 6/10

Collyer initially played in the right wing-back spot but was later moved to his favoured midfield role.

The Brazilian international played a crucial role in Fernandes’ goal, picking out Dalot with an exquisite pass.

Joshua Zirkzee – 6/10

He came on with United already in control and cruising toward victory.
