Lens confirm Arthur Masuaku loan from Sunderland

Lens have confirmed the loan signing of Arthur Masuaku from Sunderland until the end of the season on Tuesday.

The move adds defensive cover after Deiver Machado left for Nantes. Lens are second in Ligue 1 and wanted an experienced option who could slot in quickly.

Masuaku, a DR Congo international aged 32 with 42 caps, has been used sparingly in England, featuring only three times in the Premier League this season.

He previously spent five years in the Lens academy between 2003 and 2008 before moving to Valenciennes.

The loan does not include a purchase option.
