It was already known that Emanuel Emegha (22) would feature again in 2025, after the RC Strasbourg Alsace captain sustained an injury in training at the end of last week. However, the period of absence will be longer than initially reported by L’Équipe, as revealed by Liam Rosenior on Wednesday.
Emegha would not have featured against Toulouse FC over the weekend, regardless of the injury. The Netherlands international was suspended by his own club for one game as a disciplinary measure. However, now he won’t participate in the coming games, either.
Emegha has suffered a small thigh tear, which L’Équipe reported would rule the soon-to-be Chelsea forward out for around three weeks. However, Rosenior spoke to the press on Wednesday, ahead of Strasbourg’s UEFA Europa Conference League game against Scottish side Aberdeen.
During the press conference, the Englishman said that Emegha would miss around six weeks of action, which means that the striker is now set to return around mid/late January.
