Roberto De Zerbi has unveiled his squad list for the home clash against Lorient this Friday, September 12 at 18:45 GMT, as part of Matchday 4 of Ligue 1. One notable omission: Amine Harit.
Deemed surplus to requirements, the Moroccan was offered to Besiktas, but he turned down a move to Turkey. As a result, he finds himself sidelined from the group. It's a tricky situation for the 28-year-old, who has yet to play a single minute in the Phocaean shirt this season.
The Atlas Lion (24 caps, 1 goal) urgently needs to find a way out in a league where the transfer window remains open, as his OM contract runs until June 2027—otherwise, he risks being frozen out until the winter transfer window.
Within the Phocaean squad, there are two other Moroccans: Nayef Aguerd, set to make his debut in his new colors, and Bilal Nadir, who De Zerbi often deploys in the number 10 role.
Several other African stars are also included: Geoffrey Kondogbia from the Central African Republic, Algerian Amine Gouiri, Ivorian Hamed Junior Traoré, and Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all make the squad.
