Olympique de Marseille, following a poor start to the season, which entailed two losses in their first three games, invested heavily in the final hours of the transfer window. Four players are expected to make their debuts when OM host FC Lorient at the Vélodrome on Friday night.
CJ Egan-Riley, following his red card in the defeat to Olympique Lyonnais just before the international break, is the only absentee for Marseille. With the Englishman absent, there are expected to be a few changes at the back, with club captain Leonardo Balerdi also possibly dropping to the bench.
Nayef Aguerd and Benjamin Pavard, both signed just before the closure of the transfer window, are expected to start in the centre of defence, whilst Facundo Medina, who is also yet to make his OM debut, could start at left-back. Matt O’Riley, signed on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, could start in midfield.
Jeffrey De Lange; Facundo Medina, Nayef Aguerd, Benjamin Pavard, Michael Murillo; Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Angel Gomes; Hamed Junior Traoré, Matt O’Riley, Mason Greenwood; Amine Gouiri. (L’Éq)
