With Bruno Génésio expected to leave Lille OSC at the end of his contract this summer, club president Olivier Létang has reportedly begun the search for a new head coach.
Génésio revealed before Les Dogues trip to AS Monaco this evening that “The club has shown no signs [of offering an extension],” before continuing, “We will see after the season because perhaps a lot of things will stem from a direct qualification – or not – for the Champions League.”
Foot Mercato have reported that Lille have a priority in mind to replace the former Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Rennais head coach, with Thiago Motta at the top of the shortlist. Motta hasn’t managed since being sacked from Juventus in 2025.
Stéphane Dumont, who just oversaw a promotion campaign with ESTAC Troyes by winning Ligue 2, is also on the shortlist, but the French outlet writes that Les Dogues would prefer a foreign profile to succeed Génésio.
Another name that was linked with the club in February was the former striker Burak Yılmaz, with Sacha Tavolieri writing that they were closely monitoring his situation with Gaziantep.
