Liverpool and Manchester City are both in the race for Leicester City academy attacker Darren Motsi, according to the Secret Scout.
Liverpool and Man City keep scouring England to recruit the best youngsters available, and 15-year-old Foxes starlet has caught their attention with the Anfield club and their Etihad Stadium counterparts set to battle over him.
The ‘extremely technically gifted’ sensation Motsi is highly talented and has been watched by numerous clubs aside from the Reds and City.
The teenage sensation was a regular with Leicester under-18s last year and has already established himself as a regular for their under-21s.
Motsi is highly rated at the King Power Stadium and has trained with the first-team on a number of occasions.
His clips making the rounds on social media show a kid with technical maturity and football intelligence beyond his years, and it is unsurprising that Liverpool are keen.
Man City have yet to make a concrete decision but they are unlikely to want to miss out on such a talent.
Motsi is establishing a reputation as a player who is hard to easily dispossess as he uses his body really well to shield the ball.
He is also very fast and a move to the Premier League would appeal to him after Leicester got relegated to League One.
Both Liverpool and Man City have signed players from the Foxes’ academy in recent years and are hoping to do so again in the coming weeks.
Motsi may have to choose which project appeals to him the most as he will be keen to start playing first-team football very soon.
Leicester will be due compensation when – and not if – he leaves, and they are unlikely to be able to stop more youngsters from moving on in the coming months.
