The Athletic reports that Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo (21) is being considered by Liverpool as a potential alternative should they fail to sign Yan Diomande (19) this summer. The Belgian attacker is a shortlist of players being considered by the Premier League club should they fail to secure their primary target.

Liverpool are currently in the process of preparing an offer of €100m to send to Leipzig for the Ivorian’s services. As things stand, they are ahead of PSG in the race for the 19-year-old’s signature. However, the Bundesliga club are reluctant to see their teenage star leave the club this summer.

The Merseyside outfit are aware that the Red Bull club are unwilling to let go of their prized asset easily and are considering other options, one of which is Lille’s Fernandez Pardo. The 21-year-old had an impressive season for Les Dogues last term as he scored 8 goals and registered 7 assists across 41 appearances in all competitions.
