Liverpool face a ticking clock if they want to be able to trigger the release clause of top talent Kennet Eichhorn.
The Reds are involved in a battle with a host of German sides for the signature of the Hertha Berlin midfielder.
A plan and project has already been presented to Eichhorn by Liverpool as they seek to tempt him to Anfield, with the plan being to loan the 16-year-old out for one or two seasons.
There is a release clause in Eichhorn’s Hertha Berlin contract which is set at between €10m to €12m and clubs triggering it would leave the German side helpless.
However, the clause is strictly time limited and, according to German daily WAZ, interested clubs can only trigger it in the first weeks of June.

Exact dates for the clause are not known, but it will not run indefinitely and if it is not triggered with a set timeframe then it will no longer apply.
That would leave Hertha Berlin feel to either keep hold of Eichhorn, or negotiate a sale price with interested clubs which could well be in excess of the clause amount.
Such an outcome would be the best possible one for Hertha Berlin, who will be watching the clock as the clause ticks down.
Eichhorn has played 19 senior games for Hertha Berlin and a host of sides are now firmly convinced about his potential.

Missing out on winning promotion from the 2. Bundesliga has weakened Hertha Berlin’s chances of keeping hold of Eichhorn for longer and a summer move does appear to be on the cards.
Liverpool have regularly cast their net for promising talents to bring into the club’s youth ranks are closing on another in the shape of Colombian Samuel Martinez.
The Reds are seeing off competition from a number of clubs for Martinez, who at 17 years old will spend another year at Colombian side Atletico Nacional before heading to Merseyside.
