Liverpool entertain Real Madrid at Anfield in the Champions League tonight with the hope of extending their stay at the top of the table.
The Reds are the only team to have collected maximum points after four games, while Real Madrid languish in 18th position after a mixed start.
Arne Slot has confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold will feature in the squad but not from the start. Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa are all still out.
The injuries have been mounting up for Real Madrid with six first-team players unavailable. Vinicius Junior has been ruled out for the Champions League holders with a thigh injury, while Rodrygo and Aurelien Tchouameni are also set to miss out.
Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal are both in the infancy of their respective recoveries from anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

Liverpool have been a force to be reckoned with under Arne Slot this campaign and have won 13 of their last 14 games in all competitions.
It was yet another success on Sunday as they survived an early scare to beat bottom-of-the-league Southampton 3-2 at St Mary’s.
The Reds have imposed themselves domestically to open up a sizeable eight-point gap at the top of the Premier League.
Liverpool also occupy first place in the 36-team Champions League table after four wins from four games in 2024/25. During that run they have beaten Bologna, RB Leipzig, AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen.

Real Madrid have endured a fairly inconsistent season by their usual high standards. The Champions League holders have already lost twice in European competition at the hands of Lille and AC Milan.
Los Blancos trail La Liga leaders Barcelona by four points, with a game in hand, but endured a home humiliation by their fierce rivals after a 4-0 El Clásico defeat at the Bernabeu.
A comprehensive 3-0 victory over Leganes at the weekend has steadied the ship, but Carlo Ancelotti still has a plethora of key injuries to contend with.
After an emphatic win in the first leg, Real Madrid made sure they progressed into the quarter-finals at the Bernabeu.
In the first meeting, Real Madrid had gone two goals down inside the opening quarter of an hour, but rallied to change the narrative and take a 5-2 lead into the return.
Liverpool had a mountain to climb and it almost got steeper in the opening exchanges of the second leg as Eduardo Camavinga smashed the woodwork. After the interval, Federico Valverde burst clear of the opposition backline, but couldn’t convert past Alisson.
The hosts sealed their place in the last eight with 10 minutes to go through Karim Benzema. Camavinga had initially played his fellow countryman through before the ball bounced to Vinicius Jr, who made a hash of his attempt, but inadvertently set up Benzema to tap into an empty net.
The Spanish side would go on to beat Chelsea in the quarter-finals before being knocked out by another English opponent, eventual winners Manchester City.
