London City Lionesses are inviting fans to celebrate friendship and ‘Galentine’s Day’ as they host Everton at home on Sunday, 8th February.

The club already host regular kids’ fanzone activities, including face painting, arts and crafts and the popular ‘Chip It in the Bin’ challenge.

‘Make A Date With LCL’ is targeted at young adult supporters, with a range of special ‘Galentine’s Day’-specific activations.

‘Galentine’s Day’ is a friendship-focused celebration ahead of the traditional holiday of love, Valentine’s Day.

And young adults are invited to take part in a photo booth, selfie mirror, themed prize claw machine, friendship bracelet-making station and a Polaroid photo wall.

London City Lionesses captain Kosovare Asllani was quoted as saying: “From the moment I joined this club, I’ve made friends, celebrated incredible moments and been made to feel a huge part of the London City family. Football has a way of bringing people together, and matchdays like this are about sharing those moments, making lifelong memories and feeling connected.”

London City Lionesses: their season so far

London City got their first win under new head coach Eder Maestre last weekend, beating Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1.

This weekend, they face Everton, who they defeated 2-1 at Goodison Park earlier in the season. However, it is likely to be a very different Toffees side they face this weekend, with former head coach Brian Sorensen departing this week, leaving Scott Phelan in interim charge. They also have new signing Zara Kramzar, the first Slovenian to join a WSL club, who may be part of the action.

London City Lionesses made several additional to their squad during the transfer window, most recently Malou Marcetto, who joined from Madrid earlier this week. Maestre indicated on Friday that she would be part of the weekend’s squad, although France international Delphine Cascarino will miss out with a continuing injury.
