Lookman ‘to join’ Atletico Madrid from Atalanta, salary and fee detailed

According to Repubblica, Ademola Lookman is set to join Atletico Madrid from Atalanta after an agreement was reached, with medical tests planned.

Fabrizio Romano also reports an agreement. Both outlets say Atletico will pay €40m to sign the 28-year-old, with Romano adding it is €35m plus €5m in add-ons.

Repubblica says the Nigeria international will sign a four-year contract worth €7m per season.

Lookman was not called up for today’s Serie A match between Como and Atalanta, and the reports say he will travel to Madrid in the coming hours for medical checks.

He has scored 55 goals in 137 games for Atalanta and hit a hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, securing the club’s first major European trophy.
