Rodri, Spain’s captain and defensive midfielder, was named player of the tournament at the 2026 World Cup.

Spain beat Argentina 1-0 after extra time in Sunday’s final at MetLife Stadium near New York.

According to L'Équipe, head coach Luis de la Fuente said Rodri could define an era.

He also believes the midfielder could win the next Ballon d'Or.

Rodri previously won the Ballon d'Or in 2024, the year La Roja won the Euro.
