Osasuna have appointed Luis Miguel Ramis as head coach on a two-year deal running to 30 June 2028. The club said in a statement that he will be presented at El Sadar at 18:00 today.
He arrives with assistant José Manuel Gil, assistant coach Iván Madroño, fitness coach Miguel Ángel Fernández and analyst José Fajardo.
This is the Catalan's first post in LaLiga EA Sports after 10 seasons in the second tier. He joins from Burgos, who amassed 72 points yet missed the play-offs, and whose hallmark under him was defensive balance. Burgos conceded the fewest goals in the division and were among the strongest away sides.
Ramis previously coached in Real Madrid's academy and was their methodology director, later taking Castilla to first place in their Segunda B group. At Almería he arrived with 12 games left and secured safety with 7 wins, one draw and 4 defeats, although his following season ended early.
He led Albacete to fourth in 2018/19 and the play-offs, with only champions Osasuna scoring more. With Tenerife he spent three years, reaching the 2021/22 play-offs and building a defence that averaged 0.85 goals conceded per game.
In 2023/24 Espanyol appointed him after 14 rounds, but he left with 12 to play when the team were third and one point off automatic promotion. He then steadied Burgos, finishing 2024/25 10 points clear of relegation before delivering their best Segunda season since 1975/76. Now 55, he steps up to lead Osasuna.
